Turk was allowed to withdraw his guilty plea coming from the police shootout 2004.

The Memphis newspaper, Commercial Appeal, reported Turk was allowed to withdraw the guilty plea because he entered them not knowing and understanding what he was admitting to.

Turk is currently serving a 12-year sentence because of the pleas he entered two years ago.
