I had the opportunity to talk to CTE artist Roccett. He did a lot last year and is going hard for 2008. His motto, "'08 is going to be great", and great it is going to be.
Born Jerome Roccett, and raised in Carson City, California, Roccett's been working hard since he was young. He had a passion for hip-hop since 16 and hasn't looked back since.
Roccett has a new mixtape dropping, he's working with Young Jeezy for Jeezy's album and he has his own album coming out later this year.

Profit: What's been good wit it?
Roccett: I just been grinding. In the studio, trying to knock these songs out. Trying to put everything to work.
You did a lot in 2007, what's coming in 2008?
'08 is going to be great! The Corporate America mixtape is coming. I'm going to be on Jeezy's album, and Slick Pulla's album. I also got the DVD dropping and my album coming out.
What's the title for the album?
I can't give that to you just yet. But once we get the official title, you'll be the first to know!
Any future collabs with Crooked I?
Me, Crooked I and Juice did something. We trying to bring the West together and make it work.
What's the relationship like with you and Jeezy with you being from teh West and him from the South?
It's good. No matter if you from Atlanta or from the West, we go hard. With both of us being from teh streets, we put in work!
Who all you got for the album?
I'm gonna tell you about the mixtape cause it's almost and album! I got Young Buck, Akon, Gorilla Zoe, Mistah F.A.B. from the Bay.
How crazy is the joint with Young Buck?
Me & Buck went in and put some gangsta music down. The streets are gonna burn up off that joint. I went in and did my thing, Buck went in and did his thing and we created a masterpiece!
When is the mixtape dropping?
We tryin to have it done by next week. Two weeks at the latest. It's already finished. We are going to have the DJ's do their 1,2 thing and it's getting mixed. It's gon be fire! Colors was banging, but this is off the richter scale.
You got a lot of media exposure last year. How do you feel that's going to help you out this year?
I see it all as career building.
What's been going on with CTE?
Just Corporate Thuggin' it. My man Bloodraw is about to drop. Slick Pulla's coming after that, then Jeezy, then me. You know we [are] in the streets getting it in. We're in the streets pushing the songs.
Have you worked with Bloodraw for his album?
I have worked with him but I ain't on that album. We are on a lot of [mixtape] joints together.
