The Universal Music Group and YouTube have finally settled their differences. UMG wanted to be able to control their artists content and receive royalties....

for their artist views on YouTube. YouTube refused to comply with this hefty task so all of UMG's artist content was pulled from the site.

Now they have decided to form a video site called Vevo, which will launch later this year. Vevo will contain UMG's entire music catalog and YouTube and UMG will split the ad revenue.

For now, Vevo will only contain artist that are represented by UMG but there are talks of expanding and adding other label to the fold.

UMG is the largest of the big 4 record labels and includes many popular labels such as Island Def Jam Music Group and Motown Records.
