I do believe that coming up with an accusation such as this is just wrong, especially when the person who is rumored to be the center of all the drama is no longer walking on this earth and cannot give an accurate depiction of how things went.

The beautiful Aaliyah was often in the public eye with ex Roc-A-Fella executive, Damon Dash, right before her untimely death in August 2001.

Now on the heels of a biopic based on Aaliyah's life, the film's director, Choke No Joke, is suggesting that Jay-Z and Dame Dash fell out over the fact both of them were dating the late R&B superstar at one point.

Choke suggests that Jay-Z got upset after the news of Dame Dash and Aaliyah's relationship went public in 2001.

"Both Jay and Dame was involved with a certain R&B singer, who I'm not gonna say her name out of respect 'cause she ain't around to defend herself, but I believe that was a part of the initial friction," Choke told Hip Hop Weekly.

"I was seeing Jay with her back around 2000, then Dame was with her after. All you have to do is look at the movie they did, Death of a Dynasty. In the movie they were fighting over a model. In real life she was a model, but singing is what she was known for first," Choke continued.

It's a shame that Jay-Z and Dame fell out, it's even worse to find out that it may have been over a female.

The truth about this will probably never come out, but I am sure the upcoming Aaliyah movie will have their take on it all.
